An introduction to the principles and processes involved in the proper interpretation of biblical literature.
Students will learn to use historical, grammatical, intellectual, and exegetical methods of interpretations.
BENT-100 The Life of Jesus Christ
This is a survey course exploring the life, actions, and words of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Students
will examine the historical reality of his life, death, and resurrection. Also discover what is the importance
and the meaning of Jesus Christ and why He is the Good News?
PMPR-201 Homiletics (Sermon Preparation)
Learn the foundation to preparing sermons and gospel messages. Learn to find and develop
scripture texts into moving sermon outlines and manuscripts. Learn the powerful techniques contributed to the
art of preaching by African-Americans.
PMCN-203 Understanding People for Ministry
Understanding people helps us to minister to people better. Using the knowledge from the field of Christian
counseling, students will explore biblical and psychological strategies for understanding people, personalities,
and themselves.
BEOT-103 Old Testament Survey III
Expand and deepen your knowledge of the Old Testament. Engage in a historical survey and analysis of the Old
Testament as presented in its original historical, cultural, and literary settings. Special focus is on the
writings of the Prophets examining matters of authorship, dating, theme and theology.
BENT-203 The Epistle of James
Learn practical ways of growing in your speech, conduct, relationships, prayer life and ministry by studying
the powerful," down to earth" book of James. This small epistle is full of practical guidance causing maturity
in the Christian life and experience the transforming power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
