A
Passionate Recommendation for
The Passion of the Christ
by
Elder Wilfred Graves
On
the Christian Calendar as the week before Easter (Resurrection Sunday) is
what is known as “Passion Week”.
During Passion Week, Christians focus on the unspeakable sufferings
of the Lord Jesus Christ between the night of the Last Supper and his
death on the Cross. The word
“passion” speaks of powerful and intense emotion.
Although we now commonly associate the word with strong romantic
feelings, the word in its original Latin sense refers to suffering and
agony. No other word better
captures the suffering of the Lord Jesus Christ. His Passion represents the most intense sequence of events in
human history.
Christ
went through quite an ordeal to rescue us from the power of sin and death.

Celibate In The City by
K. Robinson
It seems that everywhere you turn sex is being pumped
into our eyes and ears. Just scan the radio for yourself and you will hear
songs titled “Freek-A-Leek,” and “Naughty Girl.” Channel surf and
you will find shows titled “Sex in the City,” and “Girlfriends,”
in which both plots revolve around the promiscuous sex lives of their
characters. Just the mention of the word “abstinence” will bring
laughter and mocking from those in this world around us. Let’s face it,
we live in a pleasure-filled, self-gratifying day and time.
Our society once honored God’s Word and obeyed God’s
principles. God is not to be mocked, we, as a society, have reaped what we
have sown. Thousands of people contract sexually transmitted diseases
everyday and the divorce rate is well over 50%, leaving behind a trail of
broken families and ruined lives.
