West Angeles Scholarship Fund Organization

One of the many auxiliaries at West Angeles is the Scholarship Fund Organization. As part of Bishop Blake’s Vision, to be a financial blessing to our high school graduates, WASFO was created nearly a decade ago. Our youth at West Angeles are some of the brightest in the country and for this reason we want to help them succeed in their pursuit of higher learning as we help to alleviate some of their financial pressures.  This past year we were able to distribute nearly 20 scholarships to incoming freshmen entering various colleges and universities for the 2003-2004 academic year. Some of the outstanding colleges and universities attended by our past recipients include UC Berkeley, USC, Loyola Marymount University, UCLA, Cal State Northridge, Spelman College, Morehouse College, Claremont College, Columbia University, Oral Roberts University, and Howard University.  

 We plan to double the amount of scholarship recipients this year as we have designated April to be “Scholarship Month.”  During the month of April the congregation was asked to give $2 each Sunday to help us reach this goal.  However, donations are accepted on a continuous basis.  Thank you for your support in advance.
